MSc

A domestic student pursuing an MSc degree by Thesis can expect financial support at approximately $21,000 per year, comprising a package of Scholarships and/or Research, Teaching, and Financial Assistantships, valid for up to two years. This support is subject to funding available to supervisors and to our graduate program. It is also subject to satisfactory academic progress and employability as a Teaching Assistant on the part of the student. International students pursuing an MSc degree by Thesis can expect additional assistance in the form of an International Student Tuition Fee Scholarship for up to two years, currently set at $4,800 per year. Again this is subject to available funds. All full-time students who hold a Teaching Assistantship belong to a certain union (known as CUPE). Union membership confers a number of benefits. One of these is by way of a Graduate Financial Assistance, currently set at approximately $1,770-$2325 for a domestic/visa student per year. There are other sources of assistance such as Bursaries, Research Cost Fund, Graduate Development Fund, etc. Some of these are administered in accordance with need, some on academic grounds, some on a combination of considerations.
