Dr. Sonil Nanda is a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Earth & Space Science & Engineering at Lassonde School of Engineering in York University, Canada.
He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Biology from York University in 2014. His Ph.D. study was multidisciplinary in nature with applied research in Chemical Engineering and Industrial Biotechnology pursued at University of Saskatchewan, Canada.
Sonil’s current research is in the area of bioresource engineering, especially in the production of renewable energy, generation of biochemical and biomaterials for comprehensive applications pertaining to sustainability and environmentally-friendly livelihood.
With special attention to various biogenic waste characterization and conversion, his expertise is in biomass pyrolysis, supercritical water gasification and fermentation.
His research interests also reside in characteristic studies of lignocellulosic biomass and biochar, carbon sequestration, environmental waste remediation and agronomy.
